My brother Sean and his girlfriend Savannah were vacationing in Pennsylvania during the last week of July and I suggested they stop by for a day or two to see the sights in DC.
The circumstances changed, and the day they visited got moved up, but I still got to see them on July 31st.
After they arrived and dropped off their stuff, Ann drove us around to see the sights. We had lunch at a local chain, Ledo’s Pizza. We saw the Marine Corps memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. memorial, the Capitol, the White House, and other typical spots – although we did it mostly from the cool safety of our vehicle. We then made a quick trek through the Natural History Museum, stopping at the Hope Diamond among other sights.
Tired from all the driving they did and the touristy things we all did, the three of us crashed back at my apartment. Savi and I tortured Sean through the first six episodes of the filthy-funny 2 Broke Girls.
They turned in early, so we could get an early start on the long-car ride home. More on that later.
